What? A Blog Post?
Hello good reader! You may have thought I was dead, due to the fact that many days have passed since my last blog update. HOWEVER if this isn’t enough evidence, I am in fact NOT dead, and have just had very shoddy and unreliable internet access for quite some time. But now I have a bit of time and can provide for you a very large block of text of my latest adventures in good ol’ Tanzania. I’m not...

The Good, the Bad, and the Scabies
Hello readers! It would appear that I lied when I said I would be posting more and I apologize greatly for this. The internet here is just so unreliable, and uploading photos is actually quite a pain. Hopefully in the next couple days I’ll be able to upload a couple more, as I have quite a few from our recent trip to BAGAMOYO!
Which segues into THE GOOD. Bagamoyo was a lovely trip that we...

Classes and Things
So I wanted to apologize for a lack of updates, because I don’t feel I have been providing a very good blog for you, whomever you are. And I was thinking that there have been no updates because not a whole lot has been happening. And THEN I realized I could perhaps go into detail about my classes, seeing as I haven’t really talked about those, and promise to upload some pictures I took...
theskepticalcat asked: Hey dere friend. What's this I hear about you going to a goat race and not seeing A SINGLE GOAT. That is lame. They were pushing goats with a giant broom and you missed it. For shame.

Goat Races, Group Bonding, and Other Things
Oh hello dere. This post shall be lengthy at rambly at times, but I thought you all deserved a nice long update!
First things first. We all went to the goat races on Saturday. Which sounds lame at first, but let me assure you, it was very much not lame. We took a trip on down to the white part of town, which was full of gated, fancy houses and a good variety of bars and restaurants frequented by...

First trip to Mwenge!
Hello everybody! Time for a quick text update. I had the pleasure of visiting Mwenge (pronounced Mwen-gay), which is the large market here in Dar. It’s about a 10 to 15 minute bus ride from campus. We headed over there after breakfast today, which was a great way to beat the mass amount of crowds that show up there in the afternoon.
The whole experience was pretty exciting, and everything...

A bit about the food!
Hi all! I figured you’d want to know about what I’ve been eating while here, which has actually been a lot of the same. Below is a picture of a dinner we had eating out one night last week.
I ordered the fish, and to my surprise it was a whole fish! That seems to be the trend when ordering fish. Also a trend with seafood in general, it tends to be overcooked and chewy. Though I...

A note on dorm life
So I thought I’d take a minute and talk about the dorms here a bit. They seem a bit dirty, but they are nice overall, and it doesn’t take long to get used to them! Each room has two beds (though there are a couple singles) and each bed has it’s own sheets, pillows/pillowcases, and a top sheet used as a blanket. They each come with a mosquito net also.
There are two closets, and...

I'm here! I'm alive! I'M BLOGGING!!!
HELLO PEOPLE.
This will be quick, for I am about to go out with my newfound friends to partake in some local beverages.
I wanted to share that I have successfully made it to the absolutely wonderful Tanzania, and am all moved in to the University of Dar es Salaam. It is stunning here. Overwhelming at times, but really the most amazing place I’ve ever been. It’s extremely lush here,...
